A woman was able to get out of her disabled vehicle at a Gainesville railroad crossing Saturday morning shortly before the car was struck by a freight train.

No one was hurt on the ground or on the train when the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train hit the car at the California Street crossing shortly before 10 a.m.

A railroad spokesman said the accident did cause some signal damage, and that will likely delay Amtrak's Heartland Flyer passenger train service from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth that uses the same tracks.
