DALLAS After years of planning, it's finally time.
The Packers and the Steelers are coming to North Texas for Super Bowl XLV.
So now we finally know who's playing in the NFL championship game, and with less than two weeks to go before kickoff, preparations are in high gear.
Here's what you can expect: A flood of fans from Green Bay and Pittsburgh, all converging on our area. Hotels, flights, and rental cars are all booking fast.
Much of the last-minute work around North Texas is cosmetic.
At Galleria Dallas, painters gave the ice rink a football makeover, with the Super Bowl logo.
The two teams will be staying at Omni hotels in Dallas and Irving. At the Omni in Fort Worth, workers are gearing up to greet the Steelers.
We've put 648 associates through Super Bowl training, said hotel manager Larry Auth.
Workers plan to wrap the building with super-size photos of the players this week. It will be obvious this is their hotel, Auth said. They will actually go on the window behind me. They will go on the columns, inside the hotel on the first level and the second level.
The Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas will be the home away from home for the Packers.
Graphics went to the printers immediately after Green Bay beat the Bears and the calls from Wisconsin started coming in.
We have 421 guest rooms, and it will be the the players, the coaches, their friends and their families staying here, said hotel manager Patty Cipoletti. No other guests will be in the hotel, so it really, really is an exclusive team hotel. We're real excited!
Both hotels are getting into the spirit, cheering for their Super Bowl guests.
It's an honor to be hosting the team and the fact that our Omni Fort Worth is hosting the AFC team, we've had a lot of fun back-and-forth, Cipoletti said. The trash talking can now begin, absolutely!
