FORT WORTH A former Fort Worth police narcotics officer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to being drunk at the wheel when his car slammed into a car, killing the mother of two at the wheel.

Jesus Cisneros pleaded guilty Thursday to intoxication manslaughter in the Dec. 11 death of Sonia Baker. The plea ended a trial that had begun Monday, and the Tarrant County jury assessed the maximum penalty provided by law a short time later.

Evidence showed the 38-year-old officer had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and was driving at 76 mph in a 35 mph zone when the crash happened.

He quit the force days later.
