Thursday's Our Neighbor opens its doors wide open for victims of domestic violence. Whether it's in the middle of the night or any other time of day, Hope's Door takes in anyone who needs a safe shelter.

Hope's Door is a shelter and counseling center that offers a wide variety of programs and services designed to help break the cycle of domestic abuse.

I thank God for binging me to Hope's Door, said Katie, who went to the shelter after her husband beat her.

At Hope's Door, she said it was comforting to know she and her two children were not alone.

I'm here with no family and Hope's Door became my family, she said. When I started coming to Hope's Door, they helped me regain my confidence that I had lost in the relationship.

Hope's Door provides direct intervention and prevention services to families in Collin County and surrounding areas.

Our children's program alone just grew by 200 percent this year, said Pat Tosi, with Hope's Door.

While the program has some federal grants, they depend on public donations to keep the shelter as comfortable as possible. However, upgrades are desperately needed.

Domestic violence is a silent epidemic, so it's difficult to raise funds to help people in the community who are facing this, Tosi said.

Regardless, Tosi said they have the resources to help anyone who has to flee their home.

There's a gala benefiting Hope's Door Saturday at the House of Blues in Dallas. The Beatles tribute band Hard Night's Day will kick off the fun. If you're interested in buying tickets to the fundraiser, contact
