FORT WORTH American Airlines, the main carrier serving Port-au-Prince, has canceled all flights in and out of the earthquake-devastated Haitian city.
American spokeswoman Andrea Huguely told The Associated Press early Wednesday that the Fort Worth-based carrier has about 100 employees at Port-au-Prince.
She said American is trying to contact all of its workers but "communications are very difficult."
Huguely had no immediate information on possible damage to the carrier's location, pending an assessment Wednesday.
The earthquake hit Tuesday afternoon with a 7.0-magnitude.
Huguely says American's Port-au-Prince service includes three Miami flights daily, plus one flight each serving Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and New York's JFK Airport.
Huguely said customers who were supposed to travel to Haiti should call American's reservations center.
