A Richardson teen was arrested Sunday for fatally shooting another man behind a Collin County ice skating rink.

Markailon Dailey, 18, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lyn-Darrious Bray, 20, said Sgt. Kevin Perlich, Richardson Police Department spokesman. Dailey was arraigned Monday and is awaiting his bond to be set.

At about 10:04 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the Ice Training Center on the 500 block of Centennial Boulevard following reports of gunshots. When they arrived, they found Bray's body. According to a search warrant, he had been shot in the head.

Perlich said police cordoned off the scene and stopped an orange sedan that witnesses said was driving away at the time of the shooting. Perlich said the driver told police that Dailey was hiding at a nearby apartment. He was arrested there.

Detectives are investigating a motive. Perlich said both men are known drug users and investigators are researching whether the shooting occurred after a narcotics deal went awry. However, it is possible Dailey lured Bray behind the rink to shoot him, Perlich said.

Dailey has a criminal history that includes a charge of failure to identify a fugitive and possession of a prohibited weapon last June, which he was due in court for early March, Dallas County records show.

Bray had previous charges of possession of marijuana and assault, according to Dallas County.
