There's good news for commuters routinely stuck in traffic on I-635 in Dallas.LBJ InfrastructureGroup announced Friday that financing for the LBJExpresshas been completed ahead ofschedule.
The LBJ Expressproject will overhaul Interstate 635 from I-35 to Central Expressway. As many as six express, managed toll lanes will be added across 13 miles of the freeway, in a multi-level highway system. Drivers will be able to choose whether they want to usefree lanes or toll lanes.
The$2.7 billion project is beingprimarily financed with private capital.Construction is scheduled to start in early 2011, with completion planned by 2016.
