A mechanical problem at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Friday morning slowed baggage delivery for some travelers.

The trouble was centered on the automated system that moves luggage to and from aircraft at Terminal E, which serves Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Air Lines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, Virgin America and WestJet. We were told that United and JetBlue operations were not affected.

Luggage was being hauled the old-fashioned way -- by hand and trucks -- until the technical issues can be resolved, and additional manpower was called in to help.

The problem did not extend to American Airlines, the biggest carrier at the airport.
