ARLINGTON-- Aman arrested for a string of fast food and convenience store robberies has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.

A release from the Tarrant County CriminalDistrict Attorney's Office on Wednesday said Embry Paul Chopane,Jr., 29, reached an agreement and pleaded guilty to seven charges of aggravated robbery.

Chopane's spree began in March 2013 when he robbed at gunpoint the employees of a Sonic on Green Oaks Boulevard.

He also admitted to robbing a Popeye's onEast Pioneer Parkway while waving a handgun and yelling, 'Give me all of your money from your safe or I'm going to take your life.' He also threatened to kill the store's manager if she called police.

Chopane was eventually arrested after robbing a Taco Bueno on East Pioneer Parkway on May 21, 2013.

'For two months, this remorseless defendant terrorized scores of store patrons and employees,' said Assistant District Attorney Brock Groom. 'Those two months netted him 50 years.'

Chopane has to serve half of his sentence before he is up for parole, the release said.
