Some teachers and parents made their message clear last night, protesting superintendent Mike Miles outside DISD headquarters while he was inside meeting with board trustees.

At issue was his future with the district after an investigation found he violated board policy and his employment contract.

However, still standing behind Miles is Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. Thursday he made it clear he supports the DISD superintendent and he asked the board of trustees to do the same.

So the big question is, why?

News 8 spoke with the mayor Friday to ask him that and more on the controversy that saw no real conclusion Thursday night. See his answers in the video above.
