McKINNEY McKinney police issued an Amber Alert Tuesday afternoon for 10-month-old Isabella Reyes, who allegedly kidnapped by Sandy Alcocer, 25, the child's biological mother.
Shortly after 7 p.m. the Texas Department of Public Safety discontinued the alert and said the child had been found.
McKinney police spokesman Chad Barker said Isabella was safe and in the custody of Child Protective Services after being recovered near the Mexico border in Laredo, Texas, 430 miles from where she had been taken.
Alcocer was in custody and was being questioned.
Police had said another family member recently gained custody of Isabella, and Child Protective Services believed the child was in danger.
Police believed they could headed to Mexico in a white Dodge Dakota pulling a black flatbed trailer with a blue cover. Police estimate they left McKinney between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday.
