Country star Mindy McCready committed suicide over the weekend.

McCready's boyfriend, David Wilson, killed himself just weeks before McCready's suicide. He was also the producer of "I'll See You Yesterday," a song in which McCready sang after hearing it live in a small crowd.

Courtney Dash, the writer of the song, spoke with News 8 Daybreak's Ron Corning via Skype. Dash described the moment McCready was sitting in the audience as she sang "I'll See You Yesterday," and later approached her to ask if she could record the song.

The song was the last one McCready recorded.
