WAXAHACHIE - Magnablend closed a deal Tuesday to purchase the site west of Waxahachie that was intended to be the location of the Superconducting Super Collider, before that project was scrapped.

Magnablend, which made headlines in October after their Waxahachie plant exploded, wants the property to resume mixing chemicals for the fracking industry.

Earlier this January, News 8 talked to some Ellis County residents who expressed anger at the proposal to allow heavy chemical trucks to travel the narrow roads leading up to the plant.

Tonight at 10 p.m. News 8 will have more reactions from neighbors regarding this latest news.
