The wildfire in Texas is almost contained. That is the information from the Texas Forest Service about that massive wildfire near Possum Kingdom Lake.

Officials report 167 homes and two churches were burned.

The fire scorched 127,000 acres.

Since January, Texas wildfires killed two firefighters and burned more than 1.4 million acres.

Across the state, the forestry service is working to contain more than a dozen other fires.

They include fires in Irion, Kimble Counties and more than 4,000 acres continue burning in Crane County.

Out of 254 counties, 213 counties have burn bans in place.
