AUSTIN Heavy rains overnight flooded Central Texas creeks and roads early Sunday morning.

Due to the weather conditions, officials canceled the final day of the Austin City Limits music festival.

Crews responded to several high-water rescues.

At one point, there were nearly two dozen low water crossings closed and multiple reports of people trapped in their vehicles.

Rain caused Eanes Creek in Rollingwood to overflow as well as Onion Creek and Bull Creek in Austin.

Police cruisers blocked traffic and crews put up locked steel barricades.

The Rollingwood fire department rescued a woman who drove through flood waters. She was taken by Starflight to University Medical Center Brackenridge. Her condition is unknown.

The storms also knocked out power to thousands of Austin Energy customers. At one point, 6,000 customers were in the dark.

The LCRA sent an automated message to residents alerting them of floodgate operations underway at Tom Miller Dam.

The agency began releasing water out of Lake Austin into Lady Bird Lake around 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

The highest rain totals show Barton Creek at Loop 360 got 12.17' of rain, while ABIA got 3.73'.
