ARLINGTON A woman was killed when she was struck by a train just before midnight Wednesday near the Grand Prairie border in Arlington.

According to police, the woman was struck by a train heading eastbound at about 50 mph when she attempted to cross the tracks on Great Southwest Parkway south of Division Street. Authoritites said the crossing arms were down.

Arlington police are investigating the incident and working to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office identified her Thursday as Regina Brown, 54. The ME does not list an address for her.
