ARLINGTON A church in Arlington suffered a slew of Spanish language vandalism over the weekend.
Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 2100 North Davis Drive, had its sign and front entrance tagged with graffiti.
The spray-painted words reference death, Crucifixion, and other odd sayings.
Rev. Joe Scantlin said he was disappointed that someone would resort to defaming church property.
'It's a problem in culture and society,' he said.
Arlington police spent a good portion of Sunday afternoon and early evening taking photos and talking with neighbors in the area.
The church was busy over the weekend, hosting four services and two wedding ceremonies, Scantlin said.
The thinking is that the vandals struck late Saturday or early Sunday morning.
There's no estimate on the cost of repairs.
Neighbors said they've noticed a slight uptick in vandalism recently, but were shocked that it had crossed onto the church.
'No one messes with the church,' said Susan Owens, who lives right across the street.
Arlington police continue to investigate the crime.
