DALLAS -- Baylor University confirmed a group of college students with North Texas ties were involved in a deadly wreck Tuesday. Two were killed while two others survived the crash.

Classes are out for the summer, but that didn't keep some of Jack Stewart's classmates from remembering him with a memorial of ribbons and flowers outside Lake Highlands High School, where he graduated in 2013.

The 19-year-old old was one of two Baylor University students killed in a crash in Falls CountyTuesday morning. He and 21-year-old Laura Onwudinanti of Grand Prairie were both killed when the truck they were riding in hit a tree.

Two others in the car, Jacob Hale and Megan Ritzi, both of Fort Worth, survived. The group was traveling to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to perform at a ClarinetFest, the International Clarinet Association Conference.

A picture of Jack clutching his beloved clarinet was posted on the Lake Highlands High School Band web page. His former band director Jeff Bradford spoke to News 8 on the phone Wednesday morning.

Bradford said he is still in shock over the loss of one of his best students. He said just saw Jack Monday before he left for Louisiana, after spending the weekend at another music event with Jack and his parents. He said Jack was tremendously talented, but humble.

'In my 14 years of teaching I don't know that I've ever seen a kid like that before,'said Bradford.

'But you would never know that he was a superstar or that he was an incredible musician because he didn't want to tell you about it. He just wanted to work really hard and play music and share that gift with other people.'

Bradford said it was Jack's father who called and told him that the teen had been killed in a car accident.

'Jack was a wonderful young man and I'm hopeful that in the coming days and weeks we can celebrate his life and not mourn his loss,'said Bradford.'But instead celebrate the wonderful impact he had on all of us.'

Police said all four students were wearing seatbelts and authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.

The funeral mass for Jack Stewart will beSaturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dallas.
