FORTWORTH-- A $175 million development plan for the Fort WorthStockyards is expected to go up for a vote atTuesday's City Council meeting.
After months of heated debate, it's finally decision day. The council could potentially sign off for good on the project.
Last month the council passed a tax incentive package, clearing the way for a big change to the historic Stockyards. The $175 million project would bring new hotels, restaurants and shops to the area.
The plan hit a snag last week when the City Zoning Board took a vote, saying the city ofFort Worth should deny a zoning change. This would essentially stop the development in its tracks.
Those who are against the changes to the Stockyards are hoping to preserve the area's historic charm. Others say it's an opportunity to move forward while also preserving the past.
The council will meet at 7 p.m.
