DALLAS Kwanzaafest kicks off Saturday morning at Fair Park with a 5k run/walk, creating healthy momentum to complement the festival's focus on donating health services and screenings to residents who need them.

Most of the sponsors are now publicly funded service agencies.

A wealth of free health services will be available to participants, from free mammograms to prostate exams.

At Kidsfest, kids will have a chance a 500 free prizes, after flexing their reading and writing skills.

The event is free, but tickets are required. They're available at the Martin Luther King Center, The Urban League and Two Podners Restaurant across from Fair Park. The event will be held in the Automobile Building.
