BURLESON A Tarrant County couple is committed to love... not only for each other, but also for the 12 children they've raised together.

'Always activity... always noise... and that's what we love,' said Sherry Hill.

A sign in Sherry and David Hill's living room is a tip-off they are not your average parents:

'People say, 'How do you cook for that many?' I say, 'I can't cook for two or three any more,' Sherry Hill said.

Twelve children would be overwhelming for most, but not for the Hills, who have helped raise dozens... literally.

In the past 10 years, working through Lutheran Social Services, the couple has been foster parents to more than 150 children.

'When God put this in our hearts, it kind of just overflowed. I couldn't think of anything better to do,' David Hill explained.

Both Sherry and David had successful careers, jobs they left behind for something more the chance to make a difference.

'When you have a child come into your home and they are full of anger and full of frustration and no self-esteem all the things the kids have gone through because of abuse and you're able to pull that out just a little bit at at time, and the first time they wrap their arms around you and say, 'I love you' that makes it all worthwhile,' Sherry Hill said.

Worthwhile, yes, yet not without its challenges.

With seven bedrooms and three bathrooms, physical space is tight for a family that currently numbers 14.

The tight quarters breeds a closeness though, one where love and trust go hand-in-hand.

'Once you show them, 'Hey, I love you. No matter how many times you mess up, I'm not giving up on you,'' David Hill said.

Never giving up on love for each other and for the children whose lives they touch.

'As long as we touch one child and make a difference in one child's life and we've stopped the cycle, we've done our job' Sherry Hill said.
