The Angels scored eight runs, only four of them earned, off of Rangers starter Derek Holland in an 8-3 win over Texas Saturday night.

Four unearned runs gave Los Angeles an early advantage, and a three-run sixth inning blew the game open for the Angels.

Errors plagued both teams in the early stages Saturday night.

The Rangers benefitted from an error by Angels third baseman Luis Jimenez in the first inning. Ian Kinsler reached on what could've been a double play, and Elvis Andrus advanced to third.

Adrian Beltre snapped a 0-for-13 slump with an RBI single back up the middle to give the Rangers an early lead.

But, Texas committed two errors of it's own in the bottom of the first inning.

Holland overthrew first base on a swinging bunt from J.B. Shuck, and Adrian Beltre dropped a ground ball that allowed Mike Trout aboard.

Shuck scored on Trout's ground ball, and Trout scored on a two-run home run to center field by Mark Trumbo to make the Los Angeles lead 3-1.

Jurickson Profar singled home Leonys Martin in the Ranger half of the second inning before another error cost the Rangers an out in the bottom half of the inning. The fourth Angel run scored on a sacrifice fly by Grant Green.

All four runs allowed by Holland in the first two innings were unearned after the three errors. The Rangers committed four errors in the game. A.J. Pierzynski dropped a pop-up near home plate in the eighth inning.

A two-out, RBI single to right field by Chris Iannetta brought home the first earned run of the night for Los Angeles and extended the Angel lead to 5-2.

Grant Green smacked a two-out, two-RBI double down the left field line in the sixth inning, and J.B. Shuck followed with an RBI double of his own to plate the eighth run off of Holland, chasing him from the game.

Holland threw 64 strikes on 103 pitches Saturday, surrendering eight hits over five-and-two-thirds innings of work.

The four earned runs were the most Holland has surrendered since July 30. Despite allowing just 15 earned runs over his last seven starts, Holland hasn't recorded a win since August 4.

Angel starter Garrett Richards recorded a quality start, allowing just one earned run on six hits in seven innings. Richards surrendered one unearned run after the early error by Jimenez.

A.J. Pierzynski launched a solo home run in the ninth inning off of Cory Rasmus. Rasmus pitched the eighth inning and into the ninth, but didn't record an out in the final frame.

Michael Kohn finished the ninth inning in scoreless fashion.

The loss pushes the Rangers' season record against Los Angeles to 10-4 in 2013. The loss was the second straight against the Angels, and the third overall for Texas.

The Rangers have a chance to avoid a sweep Sunday afternoon in Anaheim. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m.
