McKINNEY The storms rolled swiftly through Collin County on Tuesday afternoon, with only minor damage to report.

By Tuesday night, there were still a number of customers without power, according to Oncor s outage website.

More than a few downed trees could also be seen in McKinney.

"Didn't know it was going to be this stormy of a day," said Larry Mullins as he walked outside to the McKinney High School parking lot to find a tree on his car.

The car suffered very minor damage.

A large tree came crashing down at the Historic Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney. The tree splintered near the base and fell onto headstones.

While most of the damage was minor, that's not the case for a two-story home in Sachse. Firefighters were only a block away at another home.

"When we were leaving the scene, we had a passerby say this house was on fire here," said Sachse Fire Chief Rick Coleman.

Coleman said it was hit by lightning, the third lightning call for the unit on Tuesday. Coleman said no one home at the time of the strike.

It just seems to find different places, and never the same place twice," Coleman said.
