DALLAS Vice President Joe Biden is planning to come to Dallas this Friday, News 8 learned today.

Democratic Party sources say that Biden is headlining a fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee previously set in January. That event was postponed when President Barack Obama redirected Biden to go to Florida to meet with Haitian-Americans and aid workers assisting in the Haiti earthquake.

Biden s office declined to comment on his schedule.

As it was in January, the DSCC event also featuring Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois is scheduled at the home of Dallas plaintiffs attorney Russell Budd. A call to Budd s Dallas law office has not been returned to News 8.

Democratic Party sources also say the vice president will attend a second event at the home of a contributor to thank North Texas supporters.

Sources familiar with the fundraiser say Biden is scheduled to attend, and the FAA confirmed that flight restriction rules for local aircraft usually reserved for the president or vice president have been set for Dallas Love Field on Friday.

No public events are planned.

There remains a chance that Biden won t be able to make this trip. If the Senate is still taking votes regarding the health care reconciliation bill, Biden would be needed in Washington as the tie-breaking vote if necessary.
