The saying goes, no pain, no gain.

If you drive near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, remember there will be lots of construction over the next few years. It will begin February 15th on the long-awaited DFW Connector Project.

The billion-dollar project will rebuild State Highways 114 and 121.

TxDOT is already lowering speed limits to 50 miles an hour along the eight-mile route.

Toll lanes are planned and TxDOT is also expanding free lanes and building new bridges. There will also be a flyover ramp, letting you go directly from 121 to westbound 114.

Highway 121 and International Parkway are being reworked to help separate the traffic.

By 2014, all the lanes should be open and ready to go.

An open house is being held on February 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Grapevine Convention Center, for those wanting to learn more.
