FORT WORTH Dozens of volunteers, young and old, came together Saturday to clean up their Fort Worth neighborhood.
It's a 20-year tradition in South Hemphill Heights, and Fernando Florez got it started.
Up to 50 people broke into small groups and fanned out on Hemphill Street from Vickery Boulevard south four-and-a-half miles to Felix Street, picking up trash along both sides of the road.
Florez said it's a great way to bring people together. 'It also shows people that somebody cares,' he added. 'When we create that kind of environment, it gets people more involved in improving our neighborhoods.'
The United Hispanic Council of Tarrant County also helped with the cleanup.
