I would love for people to be able to when they think of me - think Here s a guy who stood up for what he believed in and helped make a difference for the vets, Kyle told Somebody who cared so much about them he wanted them taken care of.

Kyle gave the interviewon Jan. 28 five days before the retired Navy SEAL sniper was murdered at a North Texas gun range by, police say, a former Marine who allegedlysuffered from post traumatic stress disorder. One of Kyle's friends, Chad Littlefield, was also killed.

The 26-minute conversation is captured in an audio recording first published attexannews.neton Monday afternoon.

There s definitely still a lot of hurt from losing my guys, or the fact that I got out when I felt like it wasn t my time yet, Kyle told So being able to do this makes me still feel like I m a part of it and still giving back.
