PLANO - The former boyfriend and accused killer of Plano fitness instructor Susan Loper was arraigned in Collin County.

Terrance Black appeared before the magistrate just after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The video arraignment, which lasted less than 60 seconds, showed Black verbally identifying himself.

The magistrate checked to make sure Black understood the capital murder charge against him. His bail was set at $1 million. The magistrate then wished him luck and Black was ushered back to his jail cell in Collin County.

Black could be seen still wearing the medical halo brace he's been wearing since attempting to evade arrest by jumping from a ledge at the Grand Canyon.

The next step for Black is for his case to be presented to the grand jury before July 19. The district attorney's office had no comment.
