SAN ANTONIO Firefighters and paramedics saved the day for one local girl and her Sweet 16 court after their limousine was T-boned by a train just east of downtown San Antonio.

Pictures sent in by a KENS-TV viewer showed a Hummer stretch limousine flipped over on its side with severe damage on the driver's side.

Firefighters at the scene said the limousine's tires got stuck on the train tracks, and the driver couldn't budge the vehicle.

As the train approached, the safety arms came down and pinned the Hummer, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

Some of the teens described how they were trampling over each other to get out of the vehicle just before the train struck.

Parents told KENS no one inside the limousine was injured, including the driver.

The wreck happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Hoefgen Avenue and Essex Street.

After all was said and done, the birthday girl and her court were transported to the party by EMS and fire trucks.
