DALLAS Dallas police say a motorist will be charged with intoxication manslaughter after a single-vehicle crash left one person dead early Saturday morning.
Investigators said 40-year-old Latosha Parks was killed when the car headed west on the Cedar Crest Boulevard viaduct over the Trinity River hit a retaining wall at a high rate of speed, then crashed into a tree around 1:20 a.m.
The impact was so great that Parks was ejected from the vehicle, even though she was wearing a seat belt.
Police identified the driver of the car as Theresa Whitehead, 46, who was taken to Baylor University Medical Center for treatment. She will face an intoxication manslaughter charge.
The Cedar Crest Boulevard bridge was shut down in both directions during the accident investigation and cleanup.
