After one day of testimony, the defense rested Friday in the trial of former Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent.

He's accused of driving drunk and causing a fiery crash that killed teammate and friend Jerry Brown back in December of 2012.

Prosecutors rested their case against Brent on Thursday after showing video in court of Brent failing a field sobriety test.Other testimony came from a toxicologist who said the 320-pound Brent would have had to have 17 drinks to have a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

Brent's attorney presented witnesses who said he was not drunk the night of the crash.

Dallas Defense attorney Pete Schulte joined Jason Wheeler on News 8 at 4 p.m. to give his perspective of the trial so far.
