FORTWORTH Police in Fort Worth are investigating an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex early Thursday morning.

According to police, Officer C. Vistine and M.J. Rowell were at the Wind River Apartments investigating a burglary call when they spotted 18-year-old Jaden Williams on a patio.

According to the officers, Williams charged Vistine with a tire iron in his hand. Vistine fired his weapon at the suspect, who was struck but continued to move toward the officer, said Tracey Knight, a Fort Worth spokeswoman, in a statement.

'He threw the tire iron striking Officer Vistine in the head,' she said.

Knight said the officers were able to detain the suspect, who was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vistine was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police said Williams was wanted on an aggravated robbery charge and now faces aggravated assault against a public servant, possession of marijuana and failure to show identification charges.
