Below is the official release from the Dallas Stars, regarding the punishments to the Keller and Arlington Martin players involved in the hockey brawl on March 27.

Frisco, Tex. The Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) announced today the final decisions pursuant to the match penalty hearings for Keller High School player Braxton Mills and Arlington Martin player Jeff SoRelle. The two players were each issued match penalties for intent to injure during the 2011 Silver State Championship Game on March 27, played at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Farmers Branch.

Below are the official decisions handed down by TAHA:

Decision on Mr. Mills: Based on the Official s Report and the information obtained at the hearing, it is the decision of the Committee that the Match Penalty assessed is upheld. Braxton Mills is suspended from all USA Hockey activities for a period of two and one half (2.5) years until September 27th, 2013.

Decision on Mr. SoRelle: Based on the Official s Report and the information obtained at the hearing, it is the decision of the Committee that the Match Penalty assessed is upheld. Jeff SoRelle is suspended from all USA Hockey activities for a period of two (2) years until March 27th, 2013.

Reinstatement Application for both players: At any time after March 27, 2012, this suspension may be reviewed by the TAHA Local Match Penalty Committee upon application and appearance in person before the Committee by the player seeking to lift or reduce the period of suspension contained in this decision. In considering whether to terminate the suspension, the Committee shall consider actions taken by the player during the period of suspension to demonstrate his commitment to improving amateur hockey and its image in TAHA s geographical area of Texas and Oklahoma through service to the game and/or to his community.

Appeal Rights: Both players have the right to appeal this decision to the State Match Penalty Committee of the Texas Amateur Hockey Association. Such appeal may be commenced by contacting the President of TAHA, Ted Skinner, within ten (10) days of receipt of this decision or no later than April 24nd, 2011.
