FANNINCOUNTY -- A NorthTexas family is mourning the loss of their son, a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Private First Class Christian Jake Chandler of Trenton died in a small arms fire on Monday, April 28. His mother Rhonda Beazley says her son always wanted to serve our country and save lives.

'He said we spent our lives taking care of him, and this was one way that he could take care of more than one,' Beazley said.

Chandler was supposed to come home at the end of July. He was 20 years old.
