DALLAS -- Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said thanks to the elements and a decision to practice outside last Friday, his team was in a good frame of mind to take on the Rams; a game that turned out to be a dominating 31-7 Cowboys victory.

The plan was to bus over to AT&T Stadium for Friday's practice, but Garrett called an audible knowing they'd have to make another trip to the stadium the next day for a team picture.

'Everyone was excited to do that,' Garrett said on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM. 'But to go over to practice on Friday and then to come back on Saturday, you know, guys they start to roll their eyes a little bit. You don't want to spend an hour on the bus going back and forth.'

Garrett said he went out about an hour before they were supposed to leave and inspected the field. It was fine and the rain wasn't pouring down, so he made the call to stay at Valley Ranch for practice and his team responded.

'It was great,' Garrett said. 'Sometimes when you're in that environment - when the field is a little soggy and its a little drizzly out - you know, you remind yourself of playing football when you were 12 years old in the back yard. We practiced with that kind of spirit and we had as good a Friday practice as we've had in a long long time.'
