PRICE, Utah (AP) A Texas man has been charged with three counts of manslaughter after a crash near Moab, Utah that killed three people last month.
Twenty-eight-year-old David Lewis of Saginaw was charged Tuesday in the deaths of two fellow Texans, 54-year-old Juan Vidales and his 27-year-old daughter Stephanie Vidales. Sixty-nine-year-old Arthur Loewen of Perry, Ga., also died in the wreck Aug. 16.
San Juan County Attorney Craig Halls tells The Salt Lake Tribune Lewis was being reckless when he tried to pass a semitrailer in a no-passing zone on State Route 191 in eastern Utah.
Troopers say he hit an oncoming vehicle and triggered a four-car accident.
Authorities say a 10-year-old girl and three others were injured.
