KATY An alligator of about four to five feet in length was found early Wednesday morning at a back door of Beck Jr. High School, located in the Houston suburb of Katy.

A staff member found the gator around 7:20 a.m.

Teachers and other staff are at the campus preparing for the upcoming school year, but class hasn't yet started.

After about three hours, deputies with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office used ties and a cover to capture the gator, which put up a brief fight.

The alligator was then placed in the trunk of a patrol car so it could be taken away for relocation.
