SAN ANTONIO (AP) The Dallas Mavericks beat the San Antonio Spurs 113-92 Wednesday night to even the best-of-seven first round NBA Playoffs series at one-all.

The win snapped a 10-game Dallas losing streak against the Spurs.

'It feels great, but it's nothing to celebrate,' Mavericks guard Jose Calderon said. 'I think we have to keep doing what we're doing. I think we played two really good games. But it's one win. We have to keep doing the same thing.'

Calderon had just seven points in Game 1, but scored 12 in Game 2 all in the third quarter.

'It's huge,' Mavericks guard Devin Harris said.

Harris scored 18 points Wednesday after scoring 19 in Game 1.

'We felt like we really could have stolen two,' he said. 'We felt like we let Game 1 down, but it's good to get this one, and obviously we have a big one coming up on Saturday.'

Dallas took the lead with 9:38 left in the second quarter and never trailed again. The Mavericks were able to withstand a 10-0 run by the Spurs to end the first half, a run that erased a 15-point Dallas lead.

'Yes we have to execute; yes we did the little things; and most importantly we have to play at their level,' Mavericks forward Vince Carter said.

Spurs center Tim Duncan was held to just six points and hit just one of five field goal attempts. San Antonio committed 24 turnovers, which led to 33 Mavericks points.

'It's 24 turnovers,' Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. 'That's been a weak link for us throughout the year when we have lost a game, and that has showed up tonight.'

Dallas won despite another slow start by Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, who missed his first six field goal attempts. He finished the game with 16 points, hitting seven of 19 field goals.

'I was kind of too hyped there early,' Nowitzki said. 'I really did not have a good rhythm. I think the first shot I made was at the end of the first quarter where I pump-faked and got him in the air, and hit the one dribble shot which relaxed me a little bit. It helped me make some shots after that.'

'We did a lot of good things and I think there is still a lot of things we need to do better,' Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said. 'We rebounded better... we did that better. We scrambled and we played through some tough stretches.'

'They are such a dangerous team and they have such great players,' Carlisle added. 'We are mixing things up a lot and doing a lot of things we don't really want to do, but we have to because they are such a potent team and they have such great players. They have the Coach of the Year.'

Next up for the Mavericks are two games at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Game 3 is Saturday afternoon; Game 4 will be Monday night.
