Q: First of all, please allow me to compliment you on the recent changes to the newscasts - new graphics, theme, etc. It's good to spruce things up periodically, and as always, you do it extremely well at WFAA. Nice job! There is one change that is frustrating: Pete needs to include the actual pollen count numbers, at least onscreen, during the 6 PM newscast. Using measurements of low, moderate or high is all well and good, but many of us monitor the pollen with more specificity than that. Please ask him to show the actual amounts again. Your long-time viewers would sure appreciate it. Thanks for all you do here in Dallas!

Jenny

A: Thank you for the kind words. We checked with Pete Delkus on your questions, and he said, Yes. I took the numbers off and just show whether it s high or low for each type of pollen. The problem is that each type of pollen (oak, grass, ragweed, etc...) has its own scale. 32 may be high for one type, moderate for another and low for a third type. No one knows the scale and everyone asks questions about it. So, I thought it would be easier to just tell people what is high or low.
