RICHARDSON- Super Bowl XLV is a little over two weeks away and getting around town has gotten a big boost. It s expected that rental cars and limos are going fast, but golf carts are also in the business.

They did not want the standard that's for sure, said Mark Eastridge, Golf Cars of Dallas. They wanted a little something more dressed up so we took some pictures (of this) and they liked that and they went ahead and rented this one right here.

What the customer wanted was a cart decked out with a chrome steering wheel, a special front brush guard, rims and accessories added to a standard golf cart to make it stand out for Super Bowl XLV.

At Golf Cars of Dallas in Richardson, the phones are ringing. Customers want event rentals, but far from the greens.

Very few for golf.... let's put it that way, said Frank Gornick of Golf Cars of Dallas.

The company has rented out its entire inventory and called other vendors for more carts. That's more than 100 vehicles. Some will be delivered to hotels for extra security including ALOFT in Dallas and to Gene Simmons' party, Aces and Angles, Salute to the Troops .

We have several going down to the Centennial event happening at Fair Park, said Carolyn McCauley, an employee of Golf Cars of Dallas.

Regional airports across North Texas have also called in orders for celebrities and VIPS looking to be shuttled just a few feet.

They got VIPs so when they get off their private jet, they want to escort them to the terminal and they have the golf cart waiting, McCauley said.

She said one planner put in an order for carts to drive clients from exclusive tailgates around Cowboys Stadium to the gates. Some clients have also asked for special enclosures including tinted windows.

The drivers, we're told, will wear tuxedos.

We called other golf cart companies, and they are also seeing a boost in business.
