Babies is a wonderful, beautiful, award-winning documentary that follows the life and times of four infants from birth to their first birthday. One is from Mongolia, one lives in San Francisco, one in Tokyo and another in Namibia.
Babies is not terribly complicated, and features very little dialog, but what you discover watching this often magical little film is that all babies speak the same universal language, regardless of income or culture.
Babies does for infants what March of the Penguins did for penguins. It packs no political message but says volumes by simply observing.
I smiled non-stop watching this life-affirming documentary of parents and babies from around the world. I can't think of a better way to celebrate Mother's Day.
