ROWLETT - An elderly woman was able to escape from a quick-moving fire at her Rowlett home early Friday morning.

Rowlett officers at the scene said a neighbor rushed to help the woman after the fire broke out just after 5 a.m. Friday off Magnolia Lane.

"The fire was already through the roof and the structure was heavily involved when [firefighters] arrived," said Sgt. Dean Poos.

The house and two cars inside the garage suffered heavy damage.

No one was hurt.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze and whether it's related to a storm that moved through the area and affected some power lines.
