ARLINGTON Some flooded-out Arlington homeowners are finally getting the help they've been asking for.

The City Council began discussing a plan to buy back 51 homes and 100 condos located along Rush Creek.

In September, heavy rain caused the creek to flood the area, leaving some homes uninhabitable.

Unfortunately, at age 77, they've had to take another mortgage out on their home, said Margaret Byrum, talking about her parents' plight. In the meantime, we're still trying to resolve issues with this home.

If the city approves the $16 million bond package, owners will be offered fair market value for their homes, which would then be torn down.
