DALLAS-- A Dallas staple is closing its doors after 22 years of business inOak Lawn.

Good Eats opened in Turtle CreekVillage in 1992 and quickly became a popular gathering spot for the neighborhood.

On Monday Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Restaurant Operations (CRO), John D. Harkey, Jr., announced that GoodEats will close on July 17.

'We're disappointed to close the doors at Good Eats,' he said. 'First and foremost, we want to thank the Oak Lawn community for supporting the restaurant all these years. Since it opened on April 1st 22 years ago, we've fed countless diners, provided hundreds of jobs and generated more than $35 million in sales. But, our landlord has refused to renew our lease.'

Lincoln Property Company, who owns Turtle CreekVillage, says it has plans to redevelop the area, putting retail in the space where GoodEats currently exists.

Harkey says the restaurant plans to relocate elsewhere around Oak Lawn. Good Eats Catering will still be available, and best-selling dishes are being offered at Lucky's inOak Lawn, another restaurant owned by CRO.
