IRVING -- Fast-moving storms and gusty winds Monday caused damage all over North Texas -- including Irving, the site of the HPByron NelsonGolf Tournament this week.

Crews cleaned up quickly before Tuesday's opening ceremony, which ended up being moved indoors.

Monday's storm that blew through showed little mercy. Winds were strong enough to knock down the frame that held video monitors. It came crashing down and left a huge mess.

Luckily, there were no spectators or golfers there when it happened, and crew members are safe and well.

Monday's storms also caused problems in Carrolton, where a child was trapped in the back seat of a car after a tree fell on it. InFort Worth, lightning caused a house fire in which two firefighters were injured.

At DFWAirport, more than 200 flights were canceled due to bad weather. About 5,600 homes had outages around NorthTexas, according to the Associated Press.
