DALLAS Dallas Stars veteran player Mike Modano said Saturday he doesn't feel like he is part of the team's plan for next year.

Modano told News 8 Sports' Joe Trahan he came to that conclusion after meeting with the team's General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk.

The 40-year old player says he does not think the Stars will offer him a new contract for next year. It would be his 21st season with the team.

Modano says he will consider playing for other teams if there is interest in him. He also said he would consider retirement.
