Colombia may have been ousted in the quarterfinals, but with this penalty late on, Colombian striker and internet darling James Rodriguez (pronounced “hah-mays”) was sitting on six goals.
He was arguably the tournament’s best player, and you might’ve felt for the 23 year old, who was leaving Brazil empty-handed. However, the next closest goal-scorers who could still catch up to Rodriguez’s tally in today’s final was Germany’s Thomas Müller, who had five goals, followed by Lionel Messi who had four.
Neither scored, and James was awarded the adidas Golden Boot.
As such, and because you can never have too much JAMES, here are some of his other goals.
This deft footwork against Japan.
This composure against Uruguay.
And this wonder strike, also against Uruguay. WONDER STRIKE.
What an impressive showing. Hats off to James Rodriguez.
