Since Jerry Jones has owend the Cowboys, the team has started the season 5-2 or beter 8 times.  The DMN had a nice breakdown of the results.  Here you go:

2009 - 5-2: we'll see where this 5-2 start takes them.

2007 - 6-1: 13-3, won NFC East, lost to Giants in playoffs

2003 - 5-2: 10-6, lost in wild card round

1995 - 6-1: 12-4, won Super Bowl XXX

1994 - 6-1: 12-4, lost NFC Championship

1993 - 5-2: 12-4, won Super Bowl XXVIII

1992 - 6-1: 13-3, won Super Bowl XXVII

1991 - 5-2: 11-5, lost divisional round
