DALLAS - Registration for the Metro PCS Dallas Marathon opened Friday, and race officials also released the preliminary course design to ease runners' concerns.
Officials caused quite a stir when they announced last week they were dropping "White Rock" from the name of the race.
White Rock Lake is still on the route, but only the outer loop instead of the entire perimeter.
The race starts downtown on Main Street by the Old Red Museum. It finishes in front of the Dallas Convention Center.
The route incorporates a new West Dallas loop, which includes the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
The Arts District and Uptown remain part of the course, as do Highland Park and University Park.
The race is December 9.
