DALLAS (AP) — Erik Cole scored two goals in the second period to lead the Dallas Stars to a 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Friday night.
Cole scored the tiebreaking goal on a drive from the right circle at 7:38. He scored again at 14:04 when he slid the puck between Carter Hutton and the right goal post.
Dallas (19-12-6) is 4-0-1 in its last five games.
The Predators (16-18-4) are 0-4-1 in their last five games, during which they have allowed 21 goals.
Jamie Benn scored on Dallas' first shot just 42 seconds in.
Antoine Roussel missed a penalty shot at 16:35 of the first period, sending a backhand wide right.
Nashville tied it on Kevin Klein's first goal this season at 7:14 of the second.
Dallas' Ryan Garbutt tipped in a shot at 4:09 of the third.
Kari Lehtonen made 33 saves for the Stars. Hutton stopped 30 shots.
